Written by Bard Graduate Center faculty and curators, these richly illustrated and thoughtfully designed scholarly publications are edited and produced in-house by Bard Graduate Center’s professional staff to accompany Focus Project exhibitions. Topics reflect the unique range of interests and perspectives of faculty and curators, exploring issues in the study of decorative arts, design history, and material culture. Through the Focus Project, BGC aims to create better scholars and curators and also to encourage new, dynamic, and collaborative forms of curatorial scholarship. These publications form a continuing and integral part of this important mission.
