Intensive exploration of the cultural history of the material world is carried out through faculty-driven institutional projects but also through collaboration with other institutions.
In our vertically integrated approach, projects can emerge equally from courses, faculty research, and institutional initiatives, such as exhibitions. Collaborations allow for lateral links between Bard Graduate Center and like-minded institutions to advance teaching and research goals and to strengthen areas of the curriculum.
Beyond teaching, research events, and publication, Bard Graduate Center seeks to support in-depth exploration and development. Faculty projects can build out from course work, extend personal research or connect through existing institutional work on exhibitions. Other projects reach out to the wider academic community and reflect the desire to transform whole fields of knowledge.
