Ryan Olson specializes in the study of medieval cosmologies and their manifestation in the material culture of religious communities. His studies have focused on the transmission of esoteric philosophy and practices throughout the global Middle Ages through shared iconographies, texts, and methodologies. At BGC, he has concentrated on medieval Islamic and Renaissance astrological systems and objects. Prior to BGC, he jointly worked at the interfaith non-profit organization A Partnership Of Faith and St. Peter’s Church overseeing community engagement. He holds a BA in religion and philosophy from New York University.
