Alexandra (Lexi) McKelvy is a design historian from Greenville, South Carolina specializing in the making and wearing of luxury fashion and textiles. As a fiber artist herself, she prioritizes an active approach to her research through the reconstruction and conservation of historic textiles and craft methods. Before BGC, she studied art history and ancient history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She has gained experience working in a variety of museum environments, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the living history museum, Old Sturbridge Village. She uses digital tools to make her research accessible to public audiences on multiple website and podcasting platforms.
