Alex Calloway is a cultural anthropologist and media historian interested in how political memory and media inform sensory experiences. Primarily focusing on data-driven infrastructures like museums and archives, Calloway has also published research on topics such as video games, video art, and social networks. They hold a BA in anthropology and international relations from Tulane University, where they also studied Korean histories and their construction in museum collections. Since beginning their MA, they have held positions at the Montclair Art Museum and the Smithsonian Institution. Beyond the classroom, Calloway is the chief curator of Tokay Art in Brooklyn, New York.
