For more than a decade, Julie has been gently introducing students and faculty to the use of digital tools and methods in teaching, learning, and research. Her humanist approach to digital work focuses on overlooked perspectives, accessibility, and critical public engagement. As part of the Digital Humanities/Exhibitions team at BGC, Julie has been developing interactive projects that offer enriched learning experiences in both the classroom and the gallery. Before joining BGC, she created digital projects for interdisciplinary courses at Macaulay Honors College, taught students to write about literature at Hunter College, and served as the administrative coordinator for the Interactive Technology and Pedagogy Certificate Program at CUNY Graduate Center. Julie earned her PhD in English from CUNY Graduate Center in 2023 for her work on representations of athletic women in Victorian popular culture, which won the Calder Prize for the Best Interdisciplinary Dissertation.
