Dear Members of the Bard Graduate Center Community,

Greetings. We hope this email finds you and your families healthy and well.

As Bard Graduate Center responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is evident that the plight of many of our students is of great concern to our entire community.

In the past, BGC has periodically provided emergency relief to students as individual needs arose. However, now, with the academic program moving online, students losing part-time employment, limitations on international travel, and families’ financial situations destabilized, many of our students are experiencing financial distress that could become an obstacle to completing their studies.

In an effort to support our students and connect our entire community, we have launched the Bard Graduate Center Student Emergency Fund. As contributors to the fund, we are asking all of you to join us in making a donation. We hope that this will help ensure that all Bard Graduate Center students can continue their research, regardless of circumstance. We also hope that this effort will help students know that we are thinking of their needs, in these difficult times. Please consider joining our efforts by contributing today at bgc.bard.edu/donate, and please add “For BGC Student Emergency Relief Fund” to the comments section at the end of the form.

Financial and material support will be distributed to current BGC students who have demonstrated need. Together we have formed a committee of staff, faculty, and board members, who will act quickly and confidentially to review and approve distributions. Any balance in the fund will be used to support student’s emergency financial needs in the future.

Thank you for your thoughtful generosity. Should you have questions or concerns please send an email to [email protected].

Take good care.

With appreciation,

The BGC Student Emergency Fund Committee:
