DESCRIPTION:With our continued\ninvestment in and interaction with technolo
 gies\, an increasing amount of our\nintellectual and creative output is bo
 rn digital or has been converted to\ndigital platforms. As a consequence\,
  we have been presented with new\nopportunities to revive\, remix\, and re
 imagine past projects\, prolonging their\nlives and making them available 
 to new audiences in innovative ways. At the same\ntime\, we have had to co
 nfront a multitude of long-term issues and impacts\,\nincluding the sustai
 nability and maintenance of our digital projects\, as well\nas the privacy
  and accessibility of our personal information. This symposium\nexplores d
 igital afterlives: how we resurrect\, preserve\, and extend through\ndigit
 al means\; the ways in which our accumulated online data haunts and\nchall
 enges us\; and the ways in which we process and understand our own\nmortal
 ity through the lens of the digital. Papers presented will explore\nthis t
 opic through a variety of technologies that will help illuminate the chang
