DESCRIPTION:Artist and educator Jeff Hopkins invites families to participat
 e in an interactive storytelling workshop inspired by the exhibition Agent
 s of Faith: Votive Objects in Time and Place. During this interactive stor
 y time\, Hopkins will work on wall sized pieces of paper\, drawing\, narra
 ting and acting out the character’s actions and sounds. Following the perf
 ormance\, Hopkins will facilitate a storyboard workshop inviting families 
 to imagine their own illustrated stories inspired by works on view in the 
 gallery. Join us for storytelling\, gallery explorations\, and a hands-on 
 workshop designed to foster creativity.Jeff Hopkins is a storyteller\, edu
 cator\, and illustrator. He has performed “Pictures Come to Life” at arts 
 institutions all over the country and has illustrated nearly two-dozen ear
 ly reader books for children. For 20 years Hopkins has been a teaching art
 ist for arts organizations including the Guggenheim Museum\, American Ball
 et Theatre\, The Jewish Museum\, ArtsConnection\, MoMA\, and the Whitney M
 useum of American Art. He currently teaches art education at The City Coll
 ege of New York. He holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and
  a Masters in Education from Harvard University.
