Bard Graduate Center is a catalyst for deep reflection with objects. We build dialogue and imagine new ways of seeing.

Participate in a gallery tour and learn about how early books were made in The Codex and Crafts in Late Antiquity, and about how textiles became important parts of ritual ceremonies in Fabricating Power with Balinese Textiles. Afterwards, be inspired to touch objects in our Haptic Learning Lab and explore hands-on craft processes in the Textile Arts Center Makerspace. Educators will gain tools for how to critically engage young learners in the interpretation and analysis of textiles and material artifacts. With these skills, students will be encouraged to see deeply, think critically, and build freely.

Advance registration is recommended, limited number of seats available.

Participants receive priority scheduling for future school group tours.

Educators of all disciplines and grade levels are welcome.
