As a musical parallel to the journey of cloisonné from China to France, this concert features master erhu player and composer Wang Guowei, who will perform ancient Tang-dynasty selections accompanied by the yangqin, a hammered dulcimer that embodies the classical and regional music of China. The Colorado Quartet will perform Chen Yi’s Sprout and Maurice Ravel’s lyrical String Quartet. A special tour of the Cloisonné exhibition precedes the concert, and reception with the artists concludes the program.
