 till Need Museums?'\n\nIn the nineteenth\ncentury\, many colleges built mu
 seums along with libraries and lecture halls\,\nseeing them as an essentia
 l part of a student's education. In the early\ntwenty-first century\, camp
 us museums are faring quite variously. Some thrive\,\nothers are neglected
 \, while still others are the source of institutional\ndifficulty and emba
 rrassment. In this talk\, Conn will explore the relationship\nbetween coll
 eges and museums\, between teaching and objects\, and between\nstudents an
 d the wider public.\n\nSteven Conn is the W. E. Smith Professor of History
 \nat Miami University in Oxford\, Ohio where he moved in 2015 after spendi
 ng\ntwenty years teaching at Ohio State University. He has written widely 
 about\nmuseums\, about urbanism and urban culture\, and about the relation
 ship between\ninstitutions and ideas. He is currently working on a book ex
 amining the history\nof American business schools tentatively titled 'The
