 junct instructor in studio art. Both a figurative and abstract artist work
 ing in ink and traditional and non-traditional materials and processes\, s
 he investigates perception and the formal act of making a drawing. She tea
 ches Seeing through Drawing\, a process-based drawing class for people wit
 h low vision and blindness for the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, and she ha
 s expertise in verbal description as an approach for accessing art. She wa
 s a panel member and workshop leader for the Thinking through Drawing Octo
 ber 2021 symposium entitled 'Unlocking—Rethinking through Drawing.' In 201
 9\, her drawing about perception\, Tentative Sight\, was exhibited in the 
 Painting Center’s Patterns of Influence group show. For the 2012 NAEA conf
 erence\, she was a panelist for the discussion called 'Seeing through Draw
 ing\; Touch\, Drawing\, and Mental Imagery in People with and without Visu
 al Impairments.' Lutz received her MFA from the New York Academy of Figura
 tive Art. She lives and works between both coasts.
