 hursday\, June 16 at 6 pmDeborah Lutz is an artist\, museum educator\, and
  adjunct instructor in studio art. Both a figurative and abstract artist w
 orking in ink and traditional and non-traditional materials and processes\
 , she investigates perception and the formal act of making a drawing. She 
 teaches Seeing through Drawing\, a process-based drawing class for people 
 with low vision and blindness for the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, and she
  has expertise in verbal description as an approach for accessing art. She
  was a panel member and workshop leader for the Thinking through Drawing O
 ctober 2021 symposium entitled 'Unlocking—Rethinking through Drawing.' In 
 2019\, her drawing about perception\, Tentative Sight\, was exhibited in t
 he Painting Center’s Patterns of Influence group show. For the 2012 NAEA c
 onference\, she was a panelist for the discussion called 'Seeing through D
 rawing\; Touch\, Drawing\, and Mental Imagery in People with and without V
 isual Impairments.' Lutz received her MFA from the New York Academy of Fig
 urative Art. She lives and works between both coasts.
