 Thursday\, February 27\, at 12:15 pm. His talk it entitled “Birth Place\no
 f Industrial Design: Pratt History.”\n\nThe industrial design\npedagogy th
 at is now used around the world originated at Pratt Institute (not\nthe Ba
 uhaus). It revolutionized the whole industry. In this talk Viemeister\nwil
 l discuss the origin of business practices such as Design Thinking\, User
 \nCentered and interaction design\, the Iterative process\, prototyping\,
 \ntransdisciplinary design\, collaborative design\, and design strategy.Tu
 cker Viemeister is most famous for OXO Good Grips\nkitchen tools that conc
 eived “universal design” designed at Smart Design\, the\ncompany he helped
  found in 1979. He also founded the LAB at\nRockwell Group\, where he dire
 cted interactive experiences\, and founded\nfrogdesign’s New York office a
 nd Viemeister Industries. He worked with Ralph\nAppelbaum Associates\, dev
 eloped innovative concepts for the\nSmithsonian Institution and the Empire
  State building with Thinc\, teaches at\nParsons School of Design\, is vic
 e president of the Architectural League\, is a\nFellow of the Industrial D
 esign Society of America\, has his work in MoMA\, holds\n32 US utility pat
 ents\, has a BID from Pratt\, and was named after a car. He is\ncurrently 
 working with architect Henry Myerberg on the Narxoz University in\nKazakhs
 tan.
