 ive a Brown Bag Lunch presentation\n    on Wednesday\, April 3\, at 12:15 
 pm.She will talk about her work\, focusing\n    on how select quotidian ob
 jects have been integral to her sculptural\n    oeuvre. Ornamentation\, in
 cluding hand sewing on paper\, has been similarly\n    important to her wo
 rks on paper. Setting the stage for her presentation\,\n    she’ll bring i
 n some family heirlooms and show images from her\n    grandparent’s home\,
  where her obsession for “things” began long before her\n    work took for
 m.Rachel Selekman is a visual artist based in Brooklyn. Recent\n    exhibi
 tions include a solo show at Rosemont College in Rosemont\, PA\, and\n    
 group exhibitions at the Invisible Dog Art Center\, Brooklyn\; Marc Straus
 \n    Gallery\, NYC\; Brooklyn Academy of Music\; Galerie Aurel Scheibler\
 , Berlin\;\n    Schoolhouse Gallery\, Provincetown\, MA\; and Lesley Helle
 r Workspace\, NYC\; to\n    name a few. Selekman’s work is in numerous pub
 lic and private\n    collections\, including the Museum of Modern Art\, Mi
 crosoft\, the US State\n    Department\, and Montefiore Medical Center. Co
 mmissioned pieces can be found\n    at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore
  and the Virginia Medical Center in\n    Charlottesville. Her catalogue\, 
 Rachel Selekman: Making\n    Connections\, which surveys her sculpture and
  works on paper\,was\n    published in 2014. Selekman received her BFA fro
 m the Maryland\n    Institute College of Art and her MFA from the School o
 f the Art Institute\n    of Chicago\, where she received a full-tuition sc
