Welcome to the new Bard Graduate Center website! You may have noticed that we have a new look online. Over the past year we have worked with New York-based design studio Project Projects to update our website, and we are pleased to debut a new look that is contemporary, engaging, and easy to use. We hope that you will find it easier to submit an application to our MA and PhD programs, search the library catalog, and register for programs and events. Browse the Research Forum, the magazine-like section of the site, for original scholarship and interviews, and REvisions, which are collections of previously published research materials, assembled and regrouped in new ways to highlight unforeseen connections among our research initiatives. In the Gallery, you will find articles about current projects, dispatches from our curators, and new and ongoing research pertaining to exhibitions from our past. Click on an object anywhere across the site to learn more about its history.

Says Chris Wu, Principal at Project Projects:
One of Bard Graduate Center’s goals for its new website was to establish a clear hierarchy for the institution’s extensive and diverse content. We accomplished this by balancing the emphasis between the Center’s varying information—including its gallery exhibitions, research initiatives, academic programs, and objects in the Center’s collection—while creating a sense of exploration and discovery for the visitor. The new design employs an editorial vernacular by juxtaposing textual and visual content on a fine-grained, yet flexible, grid; it also features an unique and innovative ‘stack of cards’ page transition that extends the Center’s existing graphic identity and appropriates it into the digital realm.

As you navigate around the new site, we would appreciate your feedback. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Have a comment about the new layout? Leave your feedback here and it will be passed along to our web team.
