faculty / staff information > course reserve guidelinesInstructors may place required reading for their courses on reserve in the library, enabling students to access course materials in a centralized location. In order to expedite the process of getting your materials on the shelves, we ask that you follow these guidelines. When to Submit Reserve Lists:Lists and materials submitted by these deadlines will be processed for the first day of classes: Fall Semester: August 1st Spring Semester: December 15th Bard Term: April 15th All reserve requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Although we will do our best to process requests as soon as we get them, lists submitted after the deadlines cannot be guaranteed completion by the first week of classes. If you need to add materials to your course during the semester, please submit added materials at least one week before readings are assigned. Please advise your students that materials to be added to reserve shelves must be approved by you and then submitted to the library to be officially added and updated in the library catalog. Submitting all lists and materials at once is very helpful in making materials available in a timely manner. Note: Some books may be on reserve for two classes. These items will have one class location listed in the library catalog, but two class stickers on its spine. Where to Submit Reserves Lists:Faculty may request that items be placed on reserve in person or by email to Rebecca Friedman: reference@bgc.bard.edu How to Place Materials on ReserveLibrary Books
