Education

This fall, the BGC presents an array of education programs, open to the public, and complementing Dutch New York between East and West: The World of Margrieta van Varick including:

Study Days

Specialists examine a movement, figure, or technique related to the exhibitions through lectures, discussion, object study, and visits to private collections and studios.

Concerts

Performing artists draw upon relationships between music and material culture.

Walking Tours

Historians and scholars explore the architecture and design of New York City.

Family Days

Children and their adult companions enjoy special tours and activities with an artist or educator.

Community Festivals

Visitors of all ages experience the exhibitions through demonstrations, tours, and artmaking activities.

Open Houses for Educators

Teachers view exhibitions and explore connections to their curriculum.

Registration is required to guarantee seating for all programs. Confirmation of registration will be e-mailed to enrolled participants. Discounts are available for those who enroll in a total of three or more programs at the same time. The BGC reserves the right to cancel or change any program. We cannot provide refunds for absences caused by personal emergencies or circumstances beyond our control. If you are unable to attend a program, please consider donating your ticket back for use by a student.
