Join us for an educator-led tour of two fascinating exhibitions focusing on the material culture of Colombia and the Andean region. Make a small weaving, and receive complimentary lesson plans. Waterweavers: The River in Contemporary Colombian Visual and Material Culture features furniture, sculpture, textiles, video, and other works by contemporary Colombian artists, referencing rivers and their many meanings. Carrying Coca: 1,500 Years of Andean Chuspas examines how two aspects of Andean life—coca leaves and handwoven textiles—are brought together in the chuspa—a small woven bag designed to hold coca leaves.
