Curatorial Fellow. BA, MA, University of Colorado; PhD, University of Michigan. Dissertation, Empire of Culture: U.S. Entertainers and the Making of the Pacific Circuit, 1850-1890, examines the transnational history and trajectory of the U.S. culture industries. Publications cover various aspects of popular entertainment; the circus, blackface minstrelsy, stage magic, theatre, and popular music in the United States and abroad. Past fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation, the Huntington Library, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, and the American Antiquarian Society.
